Larry R. Poteet
Larry R. Poteet is President of Safety Harbor Financial Group, LLC. Mr. Poteet is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia with a degree in Economics and has served in the U.S. Military Officer Corp. Mr. Poteet has been active on local community planning committees and has served on the Better Living for Seniors Public Relations Committee where he published a paper on The Prudent Investors Act in the BLS Bugle. Mr. Poteet completed the "Guardian Course" at St. Petersburg College in 1999 and has been a member of the Guardian Association of Pinellas County since that time and has previously served on their Board of Directors.
Mr. Poteet has lectured across the state of Florida to Guardianship Associations and other groups on Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1993 (OBRA 1993) Special Needs Trusts and has taught the Guardian Class on the "Modern Portfolio Theory" and "The Prudent Investor Rule" at St. Petersburg College-Clearwater Campus. Mr. Poteet's twenty plus year investment career includes Manager of a National Brokerage Firm and Trust Officer for one of the largest banks in Florida.
Mr. Poteet has worked in conjunction with Elder Law and Trial Attorneys across the nation to help individuals with disabilities qualify for Public Assistance Programs and preserving their assets, thus improving the quality of life for them and their families. Mr. Poteet is President of the National Non-profit for Americans with Disabilities, Inc. (NNAD). NNAD is the Trustee for The Guardian Pooled Trust created in June 2002 pursuant to Federal Law under OBRA 1993. In addition to his role as Financial Advisor to the Guardian Pooled Trust, Mr. Poteet is a registered representative with Allied Beacon Partners, Inc. which is located at 1100 Boulders Parkway, Suite 600, Richmond, VA 23225. Member FINRA/SIPC.
Mr. Poteet is compensated through his partnership with Elite Trust Services, LLC, which is the Trust Administrator for the Guardian Pooled Trust. Additional compensation may be earned by Mr. Poteet who is a registered representative with Allied Beacon Partners, Inc., from commissions relating to investments made by the Guardian Pooled Trust.
Mr. Poteet has enjoyed the last 25+ years living in Safety Harbor, FL with his wife Ruth.
